Lady Liberty in Lynchburg

I always feel really uncomfortable when I see people dressed up as things on side of the road. David played an awsome lady liberty. He waves to just about everybody who drives by and loves to do the two step. All in all it was a fun time although it's strange to have the Statue of Liberty ask you out to dinner.

Playoff time

Since it is playoff time we have been shooting a ton of prep sports. Although I'm not a huge sports fan I do love the energy and excitment of a good playoff game.

wrestle mania

I've always liked shooting wrestling although it is always a puzzling thing to photograph and I never understand what is happening during the matches. Regardless I liked some of my photographs from the other night.

This is my bar

This is what mel was doing besides getting me a beer.

Darrell has his game face on. It didn't work though, he lost his match anyway.

Every year the Cavalier Bar puts together a pool tournament called the Cav Cup. This is a two month long tournament that culmminates the sunday after the Superbowl. On top of the dollar drafts the bar also makes giant vats of peel and eat shrimp. I had such a good time last year that I traded working on easter sunday to get this day off. I love this bar and shamefully refer to it as my second home. Here are some glimpes from last sunday.

Chinese New Year

I wonder if in China they wear Nascar hats and eat hamburgers....probably not because that would be offensive right?

Pulling the plug on public access

The Lynchburg City Council is deciding to pull the plug on public access. The reason is because Comcast just bought our local cable and has decided not to pay for public access TV that means that the city must now foot the bill. The City Council has decided that they have more important things to pay for like schools and roads. Well of coarse this make the makers of good ol' local television a little angry. One woman claimed that the Jewish City Council member hates Christians and therefore hates public access. I couldn't really follow that logic either.

90 and still kicking

I have the coolest grandmother. She just turned 90 and doesn't look a day over 70. She is as feisty and quick witted as ever. The best part about the party is that it brought the whole family together for the festivities. My family didn't miss the chance to say "So are we gonna see these photos?", "You still owe me photos from last summer." Here are the photographs from last weekend. I hope you enjoy.
