Homecoming

There is something truly iconic and timeless about photographing a homecoming. It is always extremely emotionally intense and I caught myself welling up when the man below hugged his son for the first time since January. My heart always aches for the men and women that serve but also for the families that live on without them in their lives. I wish we could live in a world where this was not necessary...ok I'll stop being naive.

Ohh Bless Your Heart...

This past weekend I got to photograph the second annual Heritage Fest in Campbell County, Virginia. As far as country festivals go, this is definitely one of the best that I've been too. I not only had the best BBQ I've ever tasted but also had plenty of colorful tractors and a praying mule set in the backdrop of William Campbell High School with non stop live bluegrass music. What fun on a Saturday afternoon in beautiful light. I only had a few hours to play but feel really good with what I came away with...plus I had a heck of a time. Enjoy!!!

PRAYING MULE!!! AMAZING!

before he prayed he dunked a plush basketball....love it.
