One thing about Lynchburg is that people go crazy for Christmas. For some reason the Star of David I wear around my neck doesn't deter people from saying "Merry Christmas" or asking me "What are you buying for Christmas?" or "Are you going home for Christmas?". In light of these questions my friends have deemed me the "Christmas Jew" for my grinchyness during the holiday season. All I'm saying is respect your local Jew....we allow all you gentiles to go and spend a week long vacation to your respective families...and we don't mind one bit. And just so I can clarify one thing Hanukkah is a minor Jewish holiday and the only reason anybody pays attention to it is because Jewish kids feel left out at Christmas. Bahhh Humbug!!!! So anyway these are some pictures I took while you all were off hanging out with the family.

The Mantra Mobile
The other day I got to work on a really interesting assignment. Sherri Lynn Wood, an artist who is temporarily staying at a local artist retreat, created the Mantra Trailer. It is a 1970s white trailer that Wood covered with mantras that have been recorded by project participants. Her project is to travel all over the country and record peoples mantras in the trailer. The inside of the trailer is amazing but you wont see any photos of it because Wood like it to be a secret for the participants. The greatest thing about the project is hearing the mantras that she records. They really are quite amazing and you can hear them at www.mantratrailer.com . And while you're at it check out my really awsome slide show that made out of the day we spent with her by clicking on the top photo below
